Bicicletada por la Integridad
On March 29, 2009 Samuel Luna organized an event called Bicicletada por la Intergridad (Riding Bikes for Integrity) which was held in Jarabacoa. There were 200 bicyclists which included the Mayor, various community leaders, and business owners. People came from Santiago, Santo Domingo, La Vega and of course, Jarabacoa. This activity was self-supporting. It was sponsored by local business owners. NET initiated the first activity of this nature ever to be celebrated in Jarabacoa.
Campamento de Bisonte Club
July 2009, the first camp was held in Jarabacoa with children of the 3 largest Bisonte Clubs. We had an attendance of 65 children and 12 adult leaders.
In November 2009, a day camp was held in Jarabacoa for all 5 of the Bisonte Clubs. The day camp took place at the YWAM center in Jarabacoa. Our goal is to schedule day camps three times a year. Friendships are being made among the children.
Campaign Against Drugs
NET was invited to participate with leaders of the Catholic Church to mobilize the community against drugs. Samuel Luna was invited to be a part of the Board that will give continuity to the movement against drugs which is threatening the town and country.
